Living in St. Petersburg, Florida is a pretty awesome thing because of the great weather that is had pretty much all year round. There's not a whole lot to complain about if you're a resident of St. Petersburg. You might find small complaints like why is there no professional baseball team in St. Petersburg like there is in Tampa Bay or why do they make the wrapping so hard to open? Other than that it's pretty breezy. However, if you've just moved to the city and are looking for a job you might be complaining to yourself about how your job search hasn't gotten off to a great start.
It might be that you just haven't searched hard enough. Or in the right places. There are a variety of ways to seek employment in the St. Petersburg area. You probably already scour the St. Petersburg Times classified section everyday in hopes of finding the perfect job in management. Reading the help wanted ads in the daily newspaper is usually the first thing a person does when looking for a job.
The second most popular job search method, first for some people, is the internet. There are a lot of great things the internet can do. Such as give you up-to-the-minute fantasy football scoring and information about free project management software for Mac computers. However, that's not all it can do. There are many popular job search engine sites such as Monster.com that list a lot of available St. Petersburg jobs that might not be featured in the local newspaper. You'll find plenty of jobs from customer service representative to electronic circuit design packager. The government of St. Petersburg also has their own website that features a section for government jobs that are available.
Of course, there are other ways of finding jobs but those are the two most popular ways. You can pick up a telephone book and start cold calling companies that you are interested or think you might be right for and ask them if they have any job openings. You can also visit local retail shops to see if they have any 'now hiring' signs on their door. Those are just a couple of other ways of finding a job in St. Petersburg.
The most important part is that you keep trying and don't give up. You might feel discouraged at times because no one has called you back. Or that you might think that your resume is turning people away because you only had one other job in your life which was as a copper lugs tester. Whatever anxiety you might have, don't worry too much over it. Just go out there and give it your all. Good luck!
